Marc Normandin – Baseball Prospectus ($): Good faith negotiating is an interesting concept though it’s one that is only ever trotted out when the larger party with more power feels as if they were somehow wronged. Jerry Beach – Forbes: Every single day it seems like there is a news story or another that makes Major League Baseball seem like an organization of ghouls. This past week was no different. MLB shortening the amateur draft and reducing the signing bonuses for draftees is yet another example of MLB being the absolute […]

Daniel R. Epstein – Baseball FYI: Baseball Reference is a great hub for baseball information. Jarrett Seidler – Baseball Prospectus ($): I understand why the Major League Baseball Players’ Association made the concessions they did with the upcoming amateur drafts. They wanted their service time and they got just that. In doing so they mortgaged the future of the sport. Such shortsighted thinking will only continue to harm the game […]

Justin Klugh – FanGraphs: Removing one’s self from baseball isn’t easy. I haven’t been able to during the shutdown. However, there is a way of thinking that a slight absence will make you appreciate the game that much more once you return to it. I have to believe that there is some truth in that […]
